Camp Stevenson-Witawentin for Girls on Onota Lake
A Summer Day Camp for girls ages 5 to 15
- 1:10 staff to camper ratio (7 years +)
- 1:5 staff to camper ration (Ages 5 & 6)
- Licensed by the Department of Public Health and must comply with their regulations.
- Breakfast and Lunch provided by the Pittsfield Public Schools Summer Food Program
- Activities in the areas of literacy, art, and science to reduce summer learning loss.
- Evidence based Girls Inc. Programming: Operation Smart, Media Literacy, and Healthy Sexuality
- Sports and Fitness Programs to promote healthy living
- Bussing in confirmed for 2021
- Spacious and pristine surroundings create an ideal natural learning environment
Girls Day Camp – Girls Inc. mission oriented programs in the areas of:
- Sports and Adventure
- Self-Reliance and Life Skills
- Culture and Heritage
- Leadership and Community Action
- Careers and Life Planning
- Health and Sexuality
Traditional day camp components of drama, art, nature, sports, boating, swimming, team and social skill building.
Tuesdays are “Camp Spirit” days and special events held every Friday.Girls should bring appropriate clothing for the sometimes unpredictable New England weather.
$215 per week session paid in advance
Counselor in Training – For young women ages 13- 15
The Counselor in Training Program is a unique opportunity for young women ages 13-15 to receive on the job training by assisting experienced counselors and program instructors in all areas of the camp program. CIT’s will develop leadership, communication, and socialization skills through active participation in a series of traditional camp components. Space is limited to 5 CIT’s per week session. Each potential CIT must go through an interview process before being accepted.
$150 per week session paid in advance

Summer Programs at 165 East Street in Pittsfield
- ABC School Age Enrichment Program
This summer program serves boys and girls, kindergarten to age 14, providing a comprehensive, safe, and supervised program for the summer; each child is encouraged to learn from the program’s supportive environment.
Come Out & Play Curriculum
Come Out and Play (COAP) is an eight-week program for youth, ages 6-12, designed specifically to promote physical activity in parks and on trails. As the name implies, COAP invites youth outside to be active, get fit and healthy, and to have FUN!
COAP aims to provide the CDC’s recommended 60-minutes or more of daily physical activity in children ages 6-12, creates a culture of evaluation and pre and post measurements, and promotes public parks and the great outdoors as places to become physically active, fit and healthy while having fun. COAP focuses on youth empowerment, goal setting, motivation and community engagement to support an intergenerational use of area parks and public spaces to foster healthy communities.
Literacy Based Summer Learning Loss Prevention Activities
- Recreational summer program
- Using the renovated facility with HVAC systems, pool and gymnasium
- Comprehensive programs in the areas of dance, arts and crafts, cooking, nature, science, sports and swimming
- Weekly local field trips to venues like the Berkshire Athenaeum, Berkshire Museum, Burbank Park, etc. Twice weekly trips to Camp Stevenson-Witawentin on Onota Lake
