Why give to the Brigham Center?

Child Care

The nurturing, educational environment of our early education and our school age programs support the children as they grow and develop, ensuring that they are ready for the learning ahead as they begin school.

Girls Inc.

We continue to strive to bring girls’ and women’s issues to the forefront of our Girls Inc. programming. Through Eureka! we have adapted to a virtual classroom, encouraging young women to pursue STEM fields. We continue to build partnerships with the school districts to help us reach as many girls as we can.

Camperships

Parents and caregivers look for a place for their child that will be safe and provide an enriching experience throughout the summer. For more than 90 years, Camp Stevenson-Witawentin has been that place, providing girls with days filled with nature and opportunities to learn. Girls spend their time in nature, learning traditional camp skills — swimming, boating, arts and crafts — and, developing important skills for today’s world — science, literacy, and how to make healthy life choices.

Of course, for some area families, the cost of camp can be financially challenging. With your support, we can provide Camperships to families who may not have the resources to send their child to camp. A helping hand from you can give parents the peace of mind that their child is safely enjoying their summer in fresh air and sunshine, filling their days with swimming, hiking, exploring science, and making friends.

Wish List

In-kind contributions provide crucial support that offset the need to raise funds. They are special gifts that only certain community members are equipped to give, and they make a big impact.

Here are some items the Brigham Center can always use:

  • Arts & craft supplies

  • Board games

  • Children’s books

  • Reams of paper

  • Large mixing bowls

  • Bowls with lids

  • Microwaves

  • Sports equipment/athletic balls

  • Portable swim starter blocks

“Go Girl” Campaign

Girls Inc. of the Berkshires has served as a resource and advocate for girls and their families for over 105 years. We began as the Young Women’s Home Association in 1911 and now we are the leading authority on issues for girls and young women in Berkshire County. Girls Inc. has touched the lives of too many girls to count.

The “Go Girl” campaign ensures that, for the next 100 years, thousands of Berkshire girls will continue to receive the superior services they so desperately need.
