For 30 years, Girls Inc. of the Berkshires has been celebrating the accomplishments of young women and female leaders in our community, through the Ruth P. Boraski Celebration Evening. The event serves two purposes. First it presents scholarships to girls who will be continuing their education after graduation. Secondly it recognizes an area woman who makes a difference in the Berkshires and serves as a role model for girls with the “She Knows Where She’s Going” award.

Through the years the number of scholarships we are able to award has grown thanks to community partners who understand the need to support girls as they continue their education and work toward a bright future. This year, $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded.

We’re also excited to honor Kelly Marion, our Chief Executive Officer, with the “She Knows Where She’s Going” award. Ms. Marion has been a champion for young woman and girls at the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center for the last 33 years. She exemplifies the Brigham Center’s mission and has helmed the Center as an educator and as a human services specialist. We are thrilled to be able to recognize Ms. Marion for her constant dedication to the youth of Berkshire County.
